Artist talk, Curation and Live Performance with Musical Interlude and Bear.
One part live performance, one part short film screening, You Are in Bear Country is a personal narrative of experimental filmmaker Matthew Rankin and his strange, inspired and ultimately failed year spent working as a government propagandist. The performance integrates Public Service Announcements, archival ephemera, radical graphic design, live music and 19 of Matthew’s original short films culminating with the volcanic short “Municipal Relaxation Module” (TIFF Canada’s Top Ten 2022).
